![]() ![]() A few tweaks here and there have made all of them even closer in power. Overall, though, I've won a fair share with almost every faction (except lantids and gleens), and they are actually all fairly close in power level. To be fair, part of their balance is supposed to be worse planet positioning, but I'm not sure if that's sufficient to keep them in line with some of the weaker factions. We also house rule some minor changes to ambas, itars, and nevlas based on experienced players' perception of them being slightly overtuned. Lantids seem to be considered the weakest faction by most experienced players, but I think people aren't as concerned with their balance bc the terrans (the other blue faction) are an overall solid faction. I use a couple house rule adjustments to make them more in line with the ambas (whom both the xenos and gleens are similar to to a certain extent). Yellow factions are considered a bit weak. With less players they tend to be stronger, and I tend to play with them outright banned in 2p, not even necessarily because of their strength (although they are strong), but because their dynamics don't really work with 2p. Ivits are also considered very strong, although I personally disagree at 4p. The tops of the Econ and Research tech tracks dole out a huge influx of resources, but they cost you income. White and brown factions are all considered quite good, if not a bit overtuned. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
